Preparations in full swing

The Kingdom is all set to roll out a red carpet welcome to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to visit the country on Saturday. Mr Modi will hold talks with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Supreme Commander, senior government officials and members of Indian community.

On Saturday evening, at 5pm, Mr Modi will address a public gathering of Indian expatriates at Bahrain National Stadium. Close to 20,000 community members are expected to attend the event. Mr Modi will also visit the 200-year-old Shree Krishna Temple in Manama. The visit will also witness many agreements and deals being signed between the Kingdom and India, mainly in the space and information technology sector.

The Indian Mission in the Kingdom has been leaving no stone unturned to make Mr Modi’s visit a grand success. Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha said the embassy is in its best efforts to facilitate the maximum participation of members of Indian expatriate community at the public event.

Those registered to participate, can collect their access card from the embassy between 8 am and 8 pm today as well as tomorrow. Prospective attendees have been urged to present their original CPRs as well as original or copy of their passports before collecting the access card.
