Bahrain Ladies on course for team Gold in Arab Bowling Championships

Topping the averages for Bahrain were Majed (627, 209.0) who top scored with a high game (245), followed by Al Awadhi (574, 191.3),

Taher (528, 176.0) and Al Janahi (466, 155.3). Following in second place were the Egyptian team of Sara Gamal, Hala Khafagy, Hala Sharawy and Ali Mohamed (1,939, 161.6) with third place to Iraq comprising Muna Khosho Bools, Shamis Abdulhussein, Daniel
Abdulrahman and Alaa Al Chalabi (1,933, 161.1).

Fourth to sixth places were UAE, Oman and Kuwait respectively.

Bahrain the previous day had collected a gold medal in the ladies doubles through Nadia Al Awadhi (her second) and Noora Majed (2,163,
180.3) for the team and individually Majed (182.2) had the highest average while Al Awadhi (178.3) was third highest overall. 

The silver medal went to Egypt's Sara Gamal and Alia Mohammed (2,116, 176.3), while Bahrain's Majeda Taher and Layla Al Janahi (2,093, 174.4) claimed bronze, with Taher (179.50) recording the second best average over six games. UAE, Egypt and Kuwait finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively, while Iraq's Munakhosho Bools had the consolation of recorded the high game overall (240) and finished seventh with her partner Alaa Al Chalabi.

Meanwhile in the men's trios UAE's Hussain Al Suwaidi, Shaker Ali Hassan and Nayrf Eqab (1,938, 215.3) lead after three games of six
which included a perfect 300 in game by Eqab, second are compatriots Mahmood Al Attar, Sultan Al Qubaisi and Harib Al Mansoori (1,888,
209.8) and third are Saudi Arabia's Bader Al Sheikh, Hassan Al Sheikh and Mohamed bin Sultan (1,833, 203.7). 

Bahrain are eighth comprising Ahmed Ameen Al Awadhi (608, 202.7), Ahmed Fareed (589, 196.3) and Ahmed Al Awadhi (582, 194.0) for a
combined (1,779, 197.7) and its second team is twelfth comprising Mohammed Al Mannai (593, 197.7), Emad Hussain (587, 195.7) and Abdulla Abdulkarim (539, 179.7) for a combined (1,719, 191.0). 

A total of 14 trios from Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE are in the fray.

Today's schedule: Ladies Team from 10am. Men's Trios 2pm and 6pm.
