Verdict date set in drug peddling case
Two brothers accused in connection with drug peddling case will learn their fate on September 3, 2019. The defendants were detained on May 27, 2019, after they were charged with possessing heroin and other narcotic products with the intention to trade them.
The first defendant, aged 31, was traced by police officers after special police agents revealed that he was a drug peddler, but his full name wasn’t known to them. Therefore, an undercover agent contacted the defendant, requesting to buy drugs from him. “He asked for heroine and offered BD10. We agreed on the venue, which was in Isa Town,” the 31-year-old defendant said.
“When I reached the place, I saw a man walking and he headed towards me. I gave him the drugs and I took the money then returned back home,” he added. Police officers tracked the 31-year-old man down all the way to his house. Then they arrested him and searched his house.
He was found to be in possession with four used injections and BD245 he earned from his drug peddling activity. His brother, 33, was at home at the time of the inspection and the 31-year-old man told police officers that he was also part of the drug network. Therefore, he was arrested too.
