Kingdom reiterates support to Saudi
Bahrain has strongly condemned Iranian-backed Houthi militia ballistic missile attacks towards Jizan city in Saudi Arabia. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemns and denounces the firing of several ballistic missiles by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias towards the city of Jizan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in what is considered a reoccurring terrorist attack targeting civilians and security officers,” said the ministry in its statement.
The ministry commended the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen forces for its efforts in countering such terrorist attacks, reiterating its unequivocal position in supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s actions taken to combat terrorism regionally and internationally, as well as against all those seeking to undermine its security and stability.
It also stressed the need for the international community to take deterrent measures against Houthi militias and all terrorist organisations supporting or funding them in order to maintain international peace and security. The Arab coalition destroyed a Houthi drone targeting Al Jawf in the north of Saudi Arabia, state news agency SPA reported yesterday. Coalition forces intercepted the drone while it was still in Yemen’s airspace.
Arab coalition spokesman Col Turki Al Maliki said, the militia’s continued attempted attacks would end in failure. Earlier on Monday, the coalition announced that they successfully destroyed three Houthi drones and intercepted six ballistic missiles targeting Saudi Arabia over 24 hours. The missiles, which were launched from Saada, were targeting civilian areas in Al Jizan, Al Maliki said. He denied Houthi claims saying the militia launched a drone targeting Riyadh.
