iGA launches ‘Forsati’ for Bahraini Government employees

The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) launched the “Forsati for Government” Project in collaboration with Microsoft and ICT training provider ThinkSmart.  This initiative aims to upskil Bahraini government employees to meet the challenges posed by the global digital economy, leading to eTransformation of Government Services. iGA, Microsoft and Thinksmart will work together in this initiative to improve Bahraini Government Employees overall competitiveness with respect to the latest skills needed for the eTransformation of the Government Services.

Microsoft will work to provide courses, certifications and technical guidance to thousands of Bahraini government employees. Training paths will include Microsoft basic tools, professional IT, cloud training, digital transformation, BlockChain and exposure to technologies that have emerged as part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. iGA’s Acting Director, Government Systems Support and Maintenance Hesham Ebrahim AlHashemi stated: “We are looking forward to enhance the skills of government employees as they are the main and most important source which the development of the entities is built on, that comes in line with Bahrain Vision 2030.”

He added: “The collaboration with Microsoft in the IT field empowers and enriches the training program, while providing the program by ThinkSmart comes as a support to the IT privet companies to be the operator of this field in the Kingdom.” ThinkSmart’s Group CEO Mr Ahmed Al Hujairy stated: “It is a proud moment to launch such a key project for the Bahraini government employees, which will enable them to upgrade their skills with the latest job role-based certifications.

“I think this has come at the very right moment when the (iGA) is leading the digital transformation in the country and all the Bahraini government employees should become part of this vision. This would not have been possible without the usual support of Microsoft and a great vision of Mr. Mohamed Al Qaed, CEO of iGA.” ThinkSmart, will manage the programme, and train IT employees from all Ministries in Bahrain.
