Rare ‘gifts of love’ presented to Modi
A painting of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his mother Heeraben Modi were among the ‘rare gifts of love’ presented to him by his passionate followers and admirers. A coin portraying Modi made out of fibre glass was a major attraction among the gifts.
It was a work of Biju Kuttoth, an Indian expatriate living in the Kingdom. Bahraini artist Fatima Hassan Ahmed painted the picture of Modi and his mother, which was gifted to the Indian Prime Minister by Ashraf Mayanchery, Managing Director of Sky International. Among the prominent members of Indian community who met the prime minister were NAFFCO Managing Director V K Rajasekharan Pillai and K G Baburaj, Chairman of BKG Holding Company.
Mr Modi concluded his two-day official visit on Saturday. During the visit, Mr Modi held talks with His Majesty, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince. He also launched the $4 million redevelopment project for Shree Krishna Temple and Thattai Hindu Community Complex in Manama.
Many Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) were signed between both countries in space and other sectors. Modi visit also saw RuPay card being launched in the Kingdom.
