Bahraini women strides lauded
Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer stressed that Bahraini women are a major pillar in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Bahraini women have carried out with competence the various tasks entrusted to them, both in terms of participation in various fields of work, and their success in holding advanced positions in Bahrain and abroad, the minister said in his congratulations to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Women, on its 18th anniversary.
“The Supreme Council for Women has contributed significantly to raising the level of community awareness of the importance of the role of women in the development process. This has clearly reflected their influence in decision-making and participation in the achievement of numerous accomplishments in the Kingdom,” he said. Bahraini women have asserted themselves in the legislative and executive areas as well as in business where they have been contributing to the development of the national economy, Mr Al Hamer added.
“The complementary relationship between the Ministry of Housing and the Supreme Council of Women has had a clear impact on the Bahraini woman’s access to many services provided by the Ministry of Housing,” he said. Mr Al Hamer stressed the ministry’s keenness to ensure housing rights for women, one of the most important rights guaranteed by the Kingdom’s Constitution, and to support of family stability. “The ministry is keen on supporting the objectives of the Supreme Council for Women and its initiatives to support and empower women,” Al Hamer said.
