Deputy PM visits ‘Manama of Al Gosaibi’

Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa visited ‘Manama of Al Gosaibi’, a cultural edifice dedicated to the life and legacy of the extraordinary Saudi figure and poet Ghazi Al-Gosaibi. The visit follows an invitation by Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the president of Shaikh Ibrahim Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cultural and Research Centre. 

Through the renovated cultural heritage building, Shaikh Ebrahim Center dedicates a place to the works and sayings of Ghazi Al-Gosaibi, his poetry, novels, literature and thought, all of which have enriched and influenced the Arab world. ‘Manama of Al-Gosaibi’ is the third affiliated landmark of Shaikh Ebrahim Centre in Manama after ‘Ibrahim Al-Arrayed House of Poetry’ and ‘Khalaf House’ bringing the centre’s total affiliated sites across Bahrain to 27.

HH Shaikh Mohammed toured the centre admiring the anthologies and literary works of Dr Ghazi Abdulrahman Al Gosaibi. Al Gosabi, Shaikh Mohammed said, is well known for his infatuation with Bahrain since his early childhood as well as while serving as the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.

“Al Gosaibi was instrumental in bolstering the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples in the various fields,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.  The centre, His Highness said, reflects Shaikha Mai’s efforts to perpetuate the literary and poetic history of Bahrain. Shaikha Mai expressed delight with HH Shaikh Mohammed’s visit and appreciation of his support.
