Court rejects age adjustment plea

The High Administrative Court has rejected a case filed by a Bahraini man against his employer to adjust his age mentioned as part of his personal data registered with the human resources department of the company. According to court files, the plaintiff had earlier won a case to reduce his age, modifying his year of birth from 1965 to 1967, and as a result of which he requested his employers to do the same after presenting the new birth certificate.

However, his requests were not accepted, leading the plaintiff to approach the court again. The High Administrative Court rejected the case over the fact that age of the employees cannot be changed once it is registered and documents such as the CPR is obtained by them. “These adjustments could spark cases of fraud and manipulation.”

The court rejected the case, considering the existing personal information of the plaintiff with human resources department is “accurate”.
