Full marks for Edu Ministry
Chairing the weekly Cabinet session yesterday, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa extended congratulations to the administrative, teaching and academic staff, as well as the students on the beginning of the new school year, wishing them every success.
The Prime Minister commended the ‘fruitful’ efforts exerted by the Education Minister and his ministry’s affiliates and the educational and academic establishments to serve the educational march in the Kingdom. The Cabinet reviewed the administrative and academic preparations made the Education Ministry ahead of the new school year.
In this regard, the Minister of Education informed the session, through a memorandum he presented, about the development projects implemented by the Education Ministry recently, citing the entry of a total of 12,000 new students to the primary education stage this year, the expansion of the integration of students with special needs programme and the opening of three new schools, in addition to the maintenance of a number of schools and providing them with the necessary equipment to ensure a suitable educational environment.
The session reviewed a report submitted by the Minister of Education regarding the Kingdom’s first position in the Arab world and third in North Africa and the Middle East in the report issued by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) on the Sustainable Economic Development Assessment (SEDA) 2019.
The report showed the Kingdom making significant progress in indicators related to education over the past decade, which reflects the remarkable development of education performance in Bahrain during the same period in which it moved from the 64th place in 2008 to the 39th internationally in 2019.
The Cabinet affirmed the government’s interest in supporting the educational process and its essential role in development, commending the efforts exerted by the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, chaired by Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, and the follow-up of the Ministry of Education.
