Indonesia ties ‘on track’
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister received Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, currently on an official visit to the Kingdom, yesterday. HRH the Premier welcomed the Indonesian Foreign Minister and reaffirmed the importance of mutual visit between officials in both countries to consolidate the co-operation as well as consultation and co-ordination on various regional and international issues.
HRH the Premier praised Bahrain-Indonesia co-operation in various fields thanks to close friendship and co-operation between the two countries leaderships and peoples. His Royal Highness affirmed Bahrain’s aspiration to boosting the current cooperation with Indonesia to achieve the shared interest, noting the active role of Indonesia within the ASEANGulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Bloc.
HRH the Premier cited the importance of the trade exchange, economic cooperation and investment between the two sides and in opening new horizons to push the momentum of progress in both countries. He pointed out that there are numerous potential investment opportunities to encourage the establishment of joint ventures and the exchange of expertise in the financial services, industrial and other sectors. For her side, the Indonesian Foreign Minister expressed deep gratitude and appreciation of HRH the Premier’s keenness and diligence on bolstering the cooperation between the two friendly countries.
She affirmed her country’s keenness on boosting its relations with Bahrain in the various fields, and praised the civilisational renaissance achieved by Bahrain that reflect its prestigious status and strategic location in the region. Separately, Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received Ms Marsudi. Shaikh Khalid welcomed his Indonesian counterpart currently visiting the Kingdom which reflects the solid friendship between Bahrain and Indonesia Republic, and their keenness to expand co-ordination on various issues of mutual interest in order to enhance the bilateral co-operation.
He pointed out the contributions of the Indonesian community in promoting and developing the Kingdom. The Indonesian minister took pride in visiting the Kingdom, expressing her appreciation of the solid bilateral relations between both countries, and their progress at all levels. She also commended the efforts exerted by Bahrain in enhancing security and stability in the region. Ms Marsudi also held talks with Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Adviser of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister.
Shaikh Salman affirmed the diligence of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister on bolstering Bahrain-Indonesia cooperation to wider areas that reflect the nature of their bilateral ties. He affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on consolidating ties with Indonesia and boosting the economic partnership in view of the assets of both countries in the trade and investment fields.
