Deputy King’s directives to EWA praised

Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia Zainal praised the directives of Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) to continue re-issuing the water and electricity invoices for Bahraini citizens at their primary residence (Single Account) for the upcoming months of September, October and November based on last year’s invoices for the same period, if they are lower than those issued this year.

She pointed out that the procedure asserts the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on catering to citizens’ needs, achieving their aspirations and protecting their rights to achieve more growth and prosperity. The Representatives Council Speaker also commended the directives of the Deputy King to EWA to expedite the launch of a newly-developed invoicing system which ensures the highest level of service to individuals and institutions, in line with international best practice to promote transparency, justice and responsibility.

She affirmed the positive impact the Deputy King’s directives had on citizens, lauding the government’s unflinching keenness to serve the interests of Bahraini citizens, boost confidence in the state’s institutions according to legal procedures and foster transparency, justice, monitoring and national responsibility. She asserted the Representatives Council’s support to the efforts of the government and the National Audit Office to achieve distinction and fast-track reform and development of all services, according to the law and regulations.
