'No casualties in Bahrain police station blast’: police
Manama
A police station in the country became the target of another terror attack after a bomb blast that occurred on Thursday night. However, no one was injured in the blast, according to Deputy Chief of Public Security Major-General Naji Al Hajil.
Naji Al Hajil confirmed the incident and said the blast occurred at Khamis Police Station in Bilad Al Qadeem. But, no one sustained any injury in the blast, he added.
Forensic teams rushed to the blast site, Naji Al Hajil said, adding “an investigation has been launched to identify and nab the culprits to bring them before justice.
The Public Prosecution has been notified about the investigation into the incident, the Deputy Chief added without elaborating much. It is worth noting terrorists have increasingly been targeting security personnel in the country.
Interestingly, the security personnel had earlier seized a large consignment of arms and ammunitions, reportedly, smuggled into the country from Iran. Iran has been blamed for meddling in Bahrain’s affairs by the country’s leadership.
It was only on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in a press statement from Paris had called upon the international community to rein in the aggressive Iran, which is out to create chaos in the Kingdom.
He had said the consignment of weapons and ammunitions smuggled into the Kingdom from Iran was so large in quantity that it could have obliterated Manama’s existence as a nation but for the timely action by the country’s security personnel.
