150kg spoiled fish seized at Manama Central Market
A special team from the Department of Maritime Supervision under the Agriculture and Marine Wealth Agency yesterday seized 150 kilogram of spoiled fish from the Manama Central Market. The team was carrying out its regular inspection campaigns when they spotted spoiled fish being sold at the market.
The department has asked consumers to be on alert over the quality before buying fish. Meanwhile, nearly 40 per cent of the revamp work at the fish market within the Manama Central Market has been completed by the Capital Municipality.
This was confirmed by the Director-General of the Capital Municipality. “The revamp work is being carried out at a fast pace, considering the importance of this food market,” the official said.
