Special day of pride
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has sent a cable of congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Saudi Arabia’s National Day anniversary. HM the King expressed sincere congratulations to King Salman, wishing him abundant health, happiness and long life, as well as further progress and prosperity to the brotherly Saudi people, under his leadership.
HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince also sent similar cables to King Salman. US President Donald Trump and Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan were among the world leaders, who congratulated King Salman yesterday. In a message to King Salman conveyed by US Ambassador John Abizaid, Trump said that the “US-Saudi partnership is more vital than ever, particularly as we confront regional security challenges and work hand-in-hand to achieve shared economic and political objectives.” He added that “the relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia is strong and multifaceted.”
Shaikh Mohammed congratulated King Salman and Saudi Arabia ahead of Saudi National Day and tweeted “Your day is our day, your joy is our joy, and your achievements are a source of pride for us.” The British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Andrew Murrison also congratulated the Kingdom, speaking in a video message recorded during his visit to Ad Diriyah. Cities across the Kingdom host special celebrations to mark the day.
The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has announced events nationwide, including firework shows, concerts, festivals, art installations, photo opportunities, kids’ workshops, live screenings, kiosks and high-end popup restaurants. National Day honours the unification of Saudi Arabia by its founder King Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
