Traffic completes over 100,000 e-transactions

Lt Col Mohammed Al Bukhil, the Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, confirmed that the  percentage of users of electronic transactions reached more than 100,000 transactions in July and August this year, an increase of more than 50 per cent compared to last year. 

The Director of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs confirmed that the General Directorate of Traffic has been working to encourage the use of its e-services through the launch of BD50 weekly prize. He pointed out that the increased awareness about electronic transactions has led to significant increase in the use of the national portal Bahrain.bh. 

The official also said that the provision of these services is carried out jointly with the information and eGovernment Authority and aims to develop e-services continuously. Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive Mohamed Ali AlQaed had stressed that all e-Governance initiatives were in line with the Government Action Plan.

AlQaed explained that these initiatives aims at utilising IT to support Kingdom’s efforts in the field of eTransformation and its sustainability in all entities – enhancing the performance and efficiency of provided services.
