Youth leaders initiative to begin in Oct

Chairman of the Good Word Society (GWS), Hassan Bu Hazza, has announced the initiative to prepare youth leaders in Bahrain, patronised by the President of the Bahrain Basketball Association and Honorary President of the GWS, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, will kick off early October, describing it as a quality development initiative reflecting the Bahraini youth’s creative ability to lead the kingdom’s future towards wider horizons in various fields.

Bu Hazza lauded HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali’s patronage of the landmark initiative which he had launched during the final ceremony of HH’s Award for Voluntary Work, thus reflecting HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali’s support for initiatives aimed at supporting Bahrain and GCC youth. He also valued highly the cooperation with the Arab Planning Institute (API) in Kuwait in the implementation of the initiative by of specialised experts, using advanced programmes, noting that the implementation of the initiative will run until March 2020.

Deputy GWS’s Chairman and the Coordinator-General of the initiative, Anwar Saleh Bu Hassan, uncovered details of the initiative, to be organised by the Good Word Society, in co-operation with the Arab Planning Institute (API) in Kuwait, from October 2019 to March 2020. He stressed that the initiative aims to achieve three main goals, including the preparation of youth leaders and initiative-takers with creative thought and vision that cope with the modern development challenges, rehabilitating youth leaders to contribute to addressing key development challenges in their communities using unconventional means and tools, in addition to honing their personal skills, encouraging positive trends and imparting knowledge of leadership skills to them.

He indicated that the initiative features six stages, namely the selection of participants, training and rehabilitation, holding specialised workshops, the discussion of the participants’ initiatives, the provision of the technical and institutional support for the participants and finally the evaluation of the beneficiaries’ activities, as well as the outcomes of the initiative.
