SCW’s role in empowering women stressed
Undersecretary of the Information Affairs Ministry, Dr Abdulrahman Mohammed Bahar, has affirmed the pivotal role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King, to strengthen the concepts of equal opportunities between men and women across the kingdom’s state departments, including the government.
Dr Bahar underlined the Information Ministry’s keenness, based on the constant directives of the Minister, Ali Al Romaihi, to ensure equal opportunities at the Ministry, empower competencies and support the SCW to disseminate its mission through various media platforms.
The undersecretary was speaking on the sidelines of a workshop organised by the SCW, in co-operation with the Equal Opportunities Unit at the Information Affairs Ministry, under the theme “Gender Balance: Efforts, Mechanisms and National Legislation”.
