Bahrain-US relations ‘on track’
Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah Al Doseri, received in his office yesterday, a delegation from the House of Representatives and Senate of the United States of America, as part of their official visit to the Kingdom. The Assistant Foreign Minister hailed the strong historic ties between the Kingdom and the United States of America, which are based on co-operation and respect.
He noted the keenness of both countries to enhance joint co-operation at all levels to achieve the common interest of the two friendly countries and people. He stressed that the Kingdom’s foreign policy is based on strengthening co-operation with countries, building partnerships to achieve mutual interests, contributing to issues of international peace, adopting the values of tolerance and moderation, contributing to the process of sustainable development, and emphasising respect for international law and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries affairs.
He also noted the Kingdom’s commitment to the principles of good neighbourliness, mutual respect, and peaceful settlement of crises, to preserve the sovereignty of states and their national institutions and the unity and territorial integrity of their countries. The Assistant Foreign Minister also noted that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has laid the foundations for reform, rights, institutions of state and law, and achieved progress in many areas of human rights. He outlined the initiatives introduced in order to develop health care, health and housing services, education and Bahraini women.
He also highlighted the Government’s Action Plan, which focuses on gaining more achievements and granting the Bahraini people their democratic, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights. Members of the delegation praised the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, commending their development in various fields. they also wished the Kingdom further progress and prosperity. They also reviewed regional and international issues of common interest.
