BDF bravery lauded

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday attended the concluding stage of the joint military drill “Samoom 4”, which has been held over many days by the Royal Guard with live ammunition. Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa also attended the military exercise.

On arrival at the site of the drill, HM the King was welcomed by the exercise’s Director Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guard Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guard Special Force Commander, and senior officials. HM the King listened to a briefing on the military drill, its stages and goals. Then, His Majesty watched the mobilisation exercise with live ammunition, which was characterised by precision and dexterity.

HM the King praised the high combat readiness of the participants, their professionalism and harmony, stressing keenness on further boosting combat capabilities and upgrading the level of training through specialised sessions to enhance the professional level of the BDF personnel. His Majesty thanked Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his distinguished management of the drill and efforts to boost the combat competencies of the Royal Guard personnel.

The King lauded participation of the Royal Guard and BDF personnel, alongside their brethren in the Arab coalition forces, in the Saudi-led “Operation Restore Hope” in Yemen. His Majesty praised their success, courage and determination to defend the right, deter terrorism and provide humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people.

The King also commended their courage and unflinching readiness to defend the nation and its development march as well as contribute to regional security, wishing all every success. A number of participants in the exercise saluted HM the King who thanked them for their efforts to ensure success of the drill. The military exercise was attended by the BDF Chief of Staff.
