‘Teach Me How to Paint’ workshop held

A workshop, ‘Teach Me How to Paint’ was organised here yesterday by NGO the Art of Life in the residential area of Hamala, supervised by the project manager of Project Dar Mohammed Abdulaziz Rashdan
The workshop was organised as a part of a series of programmes the NGO is planning to implement, in order to coach the volunteers the basics of construction work, decor, and paint as a start for working with Project Dar.
Speaking at the occasion, Mohammed Rashdan said that Project Dar is about providing a proper home for Bahraini citizens, solving the issue of dilapidated houses through fixing them or rebuilding them.
This project pays special attention to people with limited income and needy families. Adding that the project gives special attention to those with special needs when it comes to providing the necessary facilities for their lives and transportation in both their homes and public places.
The chairwoman of the Activities and Events Committee, Reem Mearaj explained that, “This is a preliminary stage for the members in order to make them experience what is it like to work in constructions and to prepare them for the hard work we are going to spare for the Dar project in restoring and building houses in Bahrain. There will be other workshops dealing with the stages of building houses.”
Mearaj said that their goal to restore houses for 20 families, while another single family will have their house demolished and rebuilt from scratch in 2016.
Rashdan added that Project Dar focuses on using environmentally friendly building materials while keeping the environmental conditions of the country in mind and making sure that health and safety precautions are always being taken.
