Deputy Capital Governor Hassan Abdulla Al Madani addressed the opening ceremony, stressing the success of the event which reached its fifth edition.

He said the Manama Entrepreneurship Week is in tune with the Government’s drive to support young entrepreneurship and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which represent a key pillar that supports the national economy and contributes to spurring growth.

He underlined the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to establish a council tasked to develop the small and medium enterprises, strengthen their competitiveness in local, regional and global markets and increase their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“The council aims to enhance the competitiveness of emerging small and medium-sized enterprises in local, regional and global markets, as well as increase their contribution to the gross domestic product. “The governorate’s continued organisation of this event for the fifth consecutive year follows the successes achieved during the previous years.

The past editions have received a high turnout from youth and keen entrepreneurs. “Today, we can proudly say that this event has become an important forum for young entrepreneurs, both existing ones who desire to raise their projects to wider horizons, as well as ambitious young people seeking to enter the entrepreneurship field.”
