National Communication Centre holds meeting

The National Communication Centre (NCC) yesterday held its regular meeting with Government Communication Network that comprises officials representing Government departments, at the Information Affairs Ministry complex. The session reviewed the achievements attained last month and discussed new initiatives  which will outlined in the coming period as part of the Government’s communication plans.

The meeting reviewed the “Update Me” initiative which was launched as part of cooperation between the Ministry of Information Affairs and the National Communication Centre (NCC), The new initiative consists in broadcasting videos and meetings with representatives of the Government departments to clarify information and topics of interest to the public and keep the community informed on the latest developments and ambitious plans, which will come into force.

The initiative aims also to highlight efforts exerted by all parties to promote and advance Bahrain and preserve its development gains. NCC Communication and Media Director Fatima Al Sairafi thanked ministries and government departments for their cooperation with the centre, commending the efforts of the Government Communication Network to achieve desired goals and highlight national initiatives and development projects.

She outlined the initiative “Interview with Government Official” which was launched by the National Communication Centre (NCC), in co-ordination with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), with the aim of building a constructive dialogue between officials and the media and highlight issues that concern the public opinion. She said that the centre seeks to continue the initiative with various ministries and government bodies in order to achieve the desired goals, in tandem with the NCC strategy, which seeks to bolster relations between government departments with the media.

NCC Strategic Planning acting director Maram Al Barduli stressed the NCC keenness on  coordination to set communication priorities along a work mechanism aimed to unify the Government’s media discourse. She outlined the NCC monthly and annual plans which lines up key events, programmes and activities at ministries and government departments so as to serve public interest, build bridges of communication between government departments and consolidate national communication.

Digital Society Department chief Ahmed Al Ghatam delivered a presentation highlighting NCC-led efforts to highlight Bahrain’s digital strides, adding that a report detailing the performance of government departments, as well as recommendations aims to enhance digital performance.
