Stranded expatriate returns home

An Indian national stranded in the Kingdom for over 36 years has finally returned home. Alosius Earnest arrived in the Kingdom in the year 1983.

The 65-year-old had a travel ban imposed on him after he was allegedly cheated by his business partner and since 2010 he has not been able to leave the country, 4PM News reported.

“Owing to his deteriorating health condition, Alosius had not worked for several years and been left with no options to return home. “The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) paid off his immigration fines and provided some money.

“The Indian Embassy provided him with a ticket home while volunteer C K Rajeevan presented him with a travel kit,” the newspaper said.
