Bahraini tourists raise nation’s flag in Antarctica
In one of the rarest feats, two Bahraini tourists have made the Kingdom proud by travelling to Antarctica and raising the Kingdom’s flag there. In a unique initiative of its kind, Spring Travel and Tourism, as represented by their CEO, Mohamed Al Hamad, and, wellknown social activist/film-maker, Omar Farooq, “tried out” a trip to the most mysterious areas of Antarctica with huge mountains and floating icebergs.
For his part, as the CEO of the Spring Travel and Tourism, Mohamed Al Hamad said: “We are proud to be the first travel and tourism company in the Arabian Gulf region to reach the Antarctic pole. The trip to the far south of the earth is bizarre and is an incredible and distinctive adventure. “It requires a lot of preparations especially with the clothing and winter gears made specially to keep warm with the extreme cold weather.
Raising our Bahrain flag over the Antarctic land is a great whole new experience, as the southern tip of our planet is one of the most mysterious land masses. “We are proud to be the first travel and tour company in the Kingdom of Bahrain to offer this wonderful trip of lifetime to this region with a view to exploration and raise the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain high.
He added that the journey requires time and energy, as they set from the Kingdom to Turkey, to take another flight to the Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital and then finally the flight to another city of Argentina, Ushuaia, which has been known as “The End of the World”, where our Antarctica expedition will embark.
A couple of days exploring the beauty of Ushuaia then headed the South Pole and our journey takes approximately 10 days. Spring Travel and Tourism Company provides different travel and tourism services with a different vision and includes more than 57 leaders and flights to more than 80 destinations globally have been able in a short time to change the concept of travel and tourism in the Kingdom by creating new destinations at competitive prices.
