Envoy participates in Japan Self-Defence Forces Day celebrations
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan, Ahmed Mohammed Al Dosary, participated in the annual celebration of the Japan Self-Defence Forces Day at the invitation of the Minister of Defence of Japan, Taro Kono, and in the presence of the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe, a number of ministers and senior Japanese government officials, diplomatic missions accredited to Japan and foreign military attachés in Japan.
During the ceremony, Shinzo Abe delivered a speech in which he thanked the heads of diplomatic missions for their continued support and their governments’ support for the Japan Self-Defence Forces, noting the prominent role they play in United Nations peacekeeping operations, which contributes to the establishment of peace and security in various regions of the world.
He stated that more than 60,000 members of the Japan Self-Defence Forces have participated in these operations since 1992, in addition to the Self-Defence Forces’ protection of more than 4,000 ships from piracy, praising their efforts during the natural disasters that have hit the country in the past months, especially Hurricane Hagibis, where the Self-Defence Forces played a prominent role in saving the lives of citizens and residents.
Ambassador Ahmed Al Dosary congratulated the Japanese Minister of Defence on the occasion, appreciating the strength of the relations between the two countries and the role played by Japan in maintaining peace, wishing Japan further progress and prosperity.
