Forum seeks to promote culture of political development

Under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) has announced the launch of the “Political Development Forum” under the slogan “Bahrain: Belonging and Citizenship” on November 27. The forum seeks to promote a culture of political development in the Bahraini society and enable it to contribute to the decision-making process effectively and develop its political knowledge.

Information Affairs Minister, and BIPD Chairman of the Board of Trustees Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, said that this year’s forum aims to emphasise the values of national belonging and loyalty to the leadership, and work to develop a national political vision that takes into consideration the values and traditions of the society.

The minister also added that this forum will highlight the civil society and its role in promoting the values of belonging and citizenship, which contributes to preserve Bahrain’s open society for tolerance and diversity. Al Romaihi affirmed BIPD’s keenness in all its programs and activities to translate the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa King of Bahrain, to consolidate and strengthen the values of citizenship and national belonging.

He also extended his appreciation to the event’s patron Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, praising the government’s keenness in supporting national activities aimed at consolidating the values of belonging and citizenship as a source of strength for the advancement of the country.

Minister Al Romaihi explained that the forum will include a set of sessions focusing on dealing with the issue of national belonging from different angles by providing an opportunity for dialogue and debate between the audience and speakers from Bahrain and other GCC countries, to increase citizens’ awareness on the importance of political affairs issues.
