Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Medicine Conference set

The sixth edition of the Mayo Clinic’s  Cardiovascular Medicine (CME) Conference will open in Bahrain on Wednesday, under the patronage of Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

 The Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre is organising the four-day conference in co-operation with the USbased Mayo Clinic Conference general co-ordinator Dr Haitham Ibrahim Amin said that over 250 leading doctors from Bahrain and abroad would take part in the annual conference.

Twelve Mayo Clinic leading doctors will deliver 39 lectures which focus on cardiovascular disease, heart failure, heart valve disease and congenital heart defects, pulse disorders. The conference will also highlight the most important developments in advanced diagnostic methods and treatment for such cases, surgical and interventional treatments using cardiac catheterisation.

He said that the conference reflects the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on promoting the development of doctors, particularly cardiologists. He also commended the role of Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre.
