10 years jail for burglary gang members

The High Criminal Court has sentenced three men to 10 years behind bars each, while another one received one year in prison for burgling homes. A woman was tried in this case too, but she was acquitted due to lack of evidence. According to court files, the defendants formed a gang for stealing valuables from houses.

They are said to have stolen valuables worth BD50,000 in their burglary spree. Investigations found that the gang was formed by the first defendant, who gave each member a role while carrying out the thefts, according to Prosecutors.

The acquitted woman was charged with hiding the stolen items, but her lawyer Manar Al Tamimi succeeded in providing sufficient evidence proving that the woman wasn’t aware of the burglaries. And she participated in the act in good faith. She allegedly kept the items in her possession at the request of her brother (the first defendant).
