Health authority to launch new office

A new office that will cater to the needs of investors in the healthcare sector will be launched by the NHRA next month. The National Health Regulatory Authority will host a special office to cater to the needs of the healthcare sector investors, NHRA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Mariam Al Jalahma revealed.

She said that the move is part of the efforts to encourage investment in the healthcare sector of Bahrain. “The new office is part of the new headquarters of the NHRA, which is expected to open next month,” she said. “Bahrain is open to investment in the healthcare space and the NHRA is keen to support and promote investment in this sector.

The new office will provide even more services to investors and will provide any help needed.” Reportedly, the new office for investors will be on the ground floor of the new building. “We want to ensure that we aid the development and facilitate and attract investment, leading to the development of the medical tourism sector of the country,” she said.

Besides opening the investment office, the NHRA also plans to create a new website focusing on Bahrain’s healthcare landscape. Procedures for investing, as well as laws and legislation governing the sector, will be listed on the webpage. Statistics, including the names of healthcare facilities in each location, the type of facilities etc, will also be found on the webpage.

The latest move is in addition to the electronic service launched for the medical professionals in October by the Information and eGovernment Authority in collaboration with the NHRA. The service enables healthcare professionals to apply for a new license, renew licenses or avail other services that were previously available only by visiting the NHRA branch.
