US ties lauded
Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia Zainal yesterday received Bahraini Ambassador to the US, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
They discussed ways of boosting co-operation and co-ordination to activate the parliamentary diplomacy with Bahraini embassies abroad and highlight the civilisational achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the comprehensive development march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The meeting was attended by Representatives Council First Deputy Speaker MP Abdulnabi Ahmed Salman and Second Deputy Speaker MP Ali Ahmed Zayed.
Separately, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received in his office at the Ministry’s General Court yesterday, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Arabian Gulf Affairs in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the United States Department of State, Mr. Timothy A Lenderking, in the presence of the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Mr Lenderking, expressing his pride in the deep-rooted cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States.
