NHRA All Set to Organise ‘First Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference’ on Thursday

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) is organising the first edition of the Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference, under the slogan “Safe and High Quality Health Services”, and that is on November 28-30, 2019, at the Gulf Convention Centre. 

Held under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health HE Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the three-day conference is expected to witness the attendance of more than 700 participants from different health professions.
The conference will be attended by President of the Conference and NHRA CEO Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, Health Minister HE Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh, Labour and Social Development Minister HE Jameel bin Ali Humaidan, representatives of the Supreme Council for Women, a number of stakeholders in the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC, chief guests and dignitaries.  

The event will include panel discussions, lectures and workshops, where 37 select speakers will share their knowledge and insights about the different fields of health and its regulations. Additionally, an exhibition will be held on the side-lines of the conference, and will continue for the three days of the conference, showcasing various stakeholders.

Additionally, participants and attendees will be granted Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours, which that are certified by NHRA, for taking part in the different activities at the event. The authority confirmed that attendees of the conference will be granted 20 CMEs, while those who attend the workshops will be granted four CMEs per workshop, and those participating with presentation posters will be granted one CME per poster. It was also confirmed that attendees of the specialised workshop on cross infection and prevention in healthcare facilities will be granted six CMEs.

On the occasion, Dr. Al Jalahma commented: “Organising the first edition of Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference reflects the keenness of the Government of Bahrain on improving health services in the Kingdom. The conference, as mentioned in its slogan; ‘Safe and High Quality Health Services’, will focus on the regulatory sides of the health sector in Bahrain and the region. It will host a number of select experts and speakers, who will highlight several key topics that are related to the improvement of professional regulations, requirements and qualifications required to ensure the provision of the best health service to patients. Other relative topics that will be addressed during the conference include the accreditation and importance of accreditations in ensuring the quality of the provided healthcare services.”

The conference aims to attract key healthcare professionals from Bahrain and the GCC region and beyond.  It also aims to bring together entities, which play a significant role in the regulation of the healthcare sector, such as government healthcare decision-makers, health reform and health regulation experts, pharmaceutical and drug company owners, public and private healthcare, providers, investors and interested experts in healthcare business, technology experts and solutions providers.
