Indian Constitution Day

The Embassy of India in the Kingdom organised an event titled ‘The Making of the Indian Constitution’ to mark the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India yesterday at the Embassy Complex in Seef.
 
Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
 
On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
 
Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha spoke at the event, which was attended by senior government officials, envoys and dignitaries.
 
Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa was the guest of honour while former minister Abdul Nabi Al Sho’ala delivered a speech on the occasion.
