Little ones donate shoes to charity
Inculcating the spirit of giving among young students, the Indian School Bahrain(ISB) Riffa campus held ‘Happy Feet Initiative’ wherein little ones donated shoes to charity. The charity initiative was held in collaboration with Al Rashid Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility project titled Shoemart ‘Happy Feet Initiative’. The objective of the drive was to inculcate the spirit of generosity in them to help the underprivileged. Students were encouraged to donate used shoes to charity which were then delivered to the Al Sanabel Orphans Care Society.
The activity was a wonderful opportunity for the students of the ISB Riffa Campus to reach out to the wider community and to participate in a social wellness initiative. The activity organised by Shoemart lent itself to a better understanding and experiencing of empathy and kindness . The response from students was overwhelming and a total of more than 1600 pairs of both used shoes in good condition and new shoes were donated. The ISB parent community deserves special applause for partnering with the school to make the drive a successful one, said Riffa campus Principal Pamela Xavier. As a kind gesture, student donors received a gift voucher from the Al Rashid Group.
