King restructures Information, Transportation ministries, NOGA
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday restructured the Ministry of Information Affairs, Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication and the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA).
The restructuring of the Ministry of Information Affairs under its Minister will see the appointment of Bahrain News Agency (BNA) Director-General to the rank of Assistant undersecretary. A decree issued also authorises the creation of a National Communication Center (NCC).
Several directorates will be formed as part of the restructuring which includes that for Human and financial resources, Media, Technology & Broadcasting, Transmission & Outside Broadcasting, Television, Radio, News, and Creativity and Online media. The Minister of Information Affairs will execute the decision that will come into effect upon publishing in the Official Gazette.
Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry
Restructuring of Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry under the Minister authorises the creation of a Communications and Marketing Directorate and Communication directorate. The ministry will have separate directorates for Information technology, Human Resources, Financial Resources, Postal Regulations, Postal Operations and Relations, postal offices and Land Transportation.
Land Transportation will have separate directorates to handle Regulations, projects, Planning and Studies and Inspection and control. The new Civil Aviation Affairs will have directorates for Air Traffic, Air Navigation and Meteorology. Air Transport, Aviation Safety and Security directorates will come under Air Transport and Aviation Safety and Security. Ports and Maritime Affairs will have directorates for Port Operations and technical services, Commercial Affairs and Logistics Zone and Safety and Security.
Maritime Affairs will handle its operations through Safety and Maritime Environment Protection Directorate and Ship Registration and Sailors Affairs Directorate. The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry shall implement the decree which comes into effect from its issuance date and publication in the Official Gazette.
National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)
NOGA has been restructured to include board of directors and a CEO with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary with Minister of Oil as Chairman. Deputy CEO positions will be created for Strategies and Control and Production & Petroleum Industries with the ranks of Assistant Undersecretary.
The ministry will have directorates for Human and Financial Resources, Planning and Development, Strategy and International Relations, Operation Monitoring, Production Development, Petroleum Industries Development and Exploration Development. Prime Minister will execute the decision effective from its issuance date and publication in the Official Gazette.
