BAC celebrates Bahraini Women’s Day
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), reaffirmed its commitment to female empowerment as it celebrated this year’s Bahraini Women’s Day.
The event this year came under the theme ‘Proud, Efficient, and Friendly’, with the participation of BAC’s Female team members.
“I would like to congratulate HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day,” BAC CEO, Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, Chairman of the Equal Opportunity Committee, said.
“Each year, the SCW celebrates the achievements of women in a particular sector, this year’s being education. All employees receive the right training and are promoted based on their competence rather than their gender in line with the SCW’s National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women 2013-2022.
At present, 39 percent of the company’s 123 female team members hold leadership roles. Moreover, BAC’s recruitment and selection process enforce the principles of equal opportunity and the integration of women’s needs to ensure they have the chance to excel and realize their potentials.”
BAC’s equality efforts were recognized in 2017 at the HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment awards ceremony.
BAC took second place in the “private organization supporting and empowering Bahraini working women” category, demonstrating its commitment to gender equality. The company strives to maintain its advanced position in empowering Bahraini women through numerous initiatives and plans.
