Rare honour for ISB teacher

Indian School Physical Education Teacher Dipshikha Baruah has become the first woman from the Indian state of Assam to become an International Referee in the Korean martial art Taekwondo. Representing Bahrain Martial Arts Federation, Ms Baruah recently participated in the International Referee Seminar held in Wuxi (China) organised by World Taekwondo Wuxi Centre under World Taekwondo, South Korea.

A few  days back results were published and she is one of the successful candidates, making her the first lady from Assam to be an international referee in Taekwondo. She has been working in the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) since 2017. Ms Baruah who hails from Guwahati holds 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwondo. She is a Taekwondo P grade national referee of India, besides being Bahrain Taekwondo Association umpire.

She is married to Naba Kumar Das. Indian School Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Secretary Saji Antony, Executive Committee Member-Sports  Rajesh M N, Principal V R Palaniswamy and Physical Education HoD Saikat Sarkar congratulated Dipshikha Baruah on her achievement.
