Bahrain’s tourism potentials, offerings showcased at BTEA Russia roadshow

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has concluded its roadshow in Russia, which was held in Moscow and St Petersburg between the 1st and 7th of December 2019. Hosting the roadshow comes as part of the BTEA’s strategy to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal tourist destination to international markets.

The delegation was headed by representatives from BTEA and Gulf Air, the Kingdom’s National Carrier, and a number of hotels and travel agencies. The roadshow aimed to promote Bahrain as a tourist destination to the Russian market during the first leg of the roadshow held between the 2nd and 5th of December; while the second leg of the roadshow, held on the 5th and 6th of December, aimed to portray the Kingdom as an ideal destination for weddings.

In addition to the representatives from the Kingdom’s national airline, Gulf Air, the visiting delegation included representatives from the alongside a number of hotels including Al Bandar Hotel and Resort, Sofitel Zallaq Bahrain Thalassa Sea and Spa, Gulf Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, Rotana Hotels and Novotel Al Dana Resort.

The delegation also included representatives from five tourism agencies and destination management companies including Best of Bahrain, Visit Bahrain, Go Bahrain, Mathias Tours and Gosaibi Travels.

delegation organised strategic meetings with wedding planners, representatives from travel agencies, and key media representatives in order to promote Bahrain’s unique attractions and facilities available in that cater to different interests. “At BTEA, we regularly host roadshows in order to showcase the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unique offerings to international markets with an aim of increasing the number of inbound visitors to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“We remain committed to working closely with our seven representative offices set up to promote Bahrain as an ideal destination for tourism and hosting weddings and celebrations, which comes as part of our efforts to further develop these vibrant sectors and increase the Tourism sector’s contribution to the national economy,” said the Acting Director of Marketing and Tourism Promotion Directorate at BTEA, Dr Ali Follad.

Hosting the roadshow comes in line with the BTEA’s strategic outreach programme to promote the tourism brand ‘Ours Yours’ aimed at showcasing the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal destination for tourism as well as hosting weddings and celebrations through promoting the Kingdom’s offering with an aim to develop the tourism and wedding sectors and increase their contribution to the national economy in line with the Economic Vision 2030.
