Fatal hit-and-run suspect held three hours after accident

A driver, who reportedly fled the scene after causing an accident, which led to the death of a person was arrested within three hours. A fatal traffic accident took place in the capital governorate yesterday which took the life an expatriate man. Reportedly, the driver who caused the accident immediately fled the scene.

Authorities sprung into action and launched an investigation and was able to apprehend the suspect within three hours. The incident took place in Juffair. According to the ministry, the deceased was 32 years old Asian expatriate.

Confirming the incident, the Ministry of Interior stated: “Within three hours, the driver was arrested after he escaped from the site of a traffic accident that happened in Juffair, which resulted in the death of an Asian expatriate.

The concerned authorities took necessary measures.” Recently, a 32-year-old Bahraini woman was injured as a result of a traffic accident on Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge towards Manama.

She was transferred to the hospital and was later reported to be in a stable condition. The General Directorate of Traffic has urged drivers to be more careful as rainy weather could increase chances of accidents.
