Nearly 30,000 attend National Day celebrations in Southern Governorate

The Southern Governorate yesterday concluded a series of events and activities organised under the patronage of Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa, the Governor of the Southern Governorate, on the occasion of celebrations of national holidays. The governor affirmed that the celebrations marking the precious occasion were distinguished by diversity.

“It has succeeded in obtaining a broad participation and presence of citizens and residents, as the number of visitors to the activities of the governorate reached nearly 30,000. “The visitors have expressed their happiness and admiration for all the events that were held, which were aimed at establishing the values of loyalty and their national belonging.”

Shaikh Khalifa said that the celebrations this year sought to shed light on the most prominent milestones in the development and renaissance march taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the support of the Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

He added that the atmosphere of joy experienced by the Kingdom in general and the Southern Governorate in particular on the occasion of the national holidays highlighted the people’s love for their homeland. The Governor affirmed that among the most important gains achieved by the activities organised by the Southern Governorate was boosting active partnership and social responsibility among various segments of the society.

Shaikh Khalifa noted that the support from various governmental, private and non-governmental bodies, sponsors and shareholders, and the co-operation of official and popular bodies and institutions within the Southern Governorate, had a great impact on the great success achieved by the events organised by the governorate.

The Governor expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the people of the Southern Governorate for their positive interaction with all national events and celebrations, which contributed to its success and achievement of the goals behind it in consolidating the values of national belonging and documenting the gains made to the homeland in all sectors.
