Muharraq Farmers’ Market to support local farmers
A farmers’ market was opened at Oasis Mall in Muharraq by Shaikha Maram bint Isa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development on Thursday.
The market will continue for the next four months. It was created as a concept to encourage the local farmers and create a sense of community awareness towards agriculture, organisers said in a statement issued.
“This market was planned in line with the objectives of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development.” The market will remain open from 8 am to 12:30 pm until March 27, 2020.
The farmers market will have approximately 15 vendors who will be selling fresh vegetables, fruits, local spices etc. The market will also sell fresh Bahraini breakfast to all visitors, the organisers added.
