Fake bombers lose appeal
The High Appeals Court upheld a one year’s jail term awarded to two convicted of planting a fake bomb in Hamad Town. The pair were arrested and tried for their role in planting the device on a public road to trigger panic among residents and citizens.
Prosecutors said that the defendants acted for a terrorist purpose. Police traced downed the suspects based on fingerprints obtained from the crime scene.
