Minister hails Al Ayam role

Information Affairs Minister, Bahrain Institute of Political Development (BIPD) board of trustees’ chairman, Ali Al Romaihi has hailed the Kingdom of Bahrain as a beacon of civilisational diversity, peaceful coexistence, cultural and media creativity and intellectual pluralism under the reform project, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He made the statement as he attended the opening of the 26th edition of Al Ayam Book Fair. He took pride in the event, being held by Al Ayam press establishment, under the patronage of Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

The 2019 edition is being held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC), showcasing 240 Arab and foreign publishing enterprises.

He commended the role of the national press and media and artistic companies in enriching the cultural, literary and scientific landscape in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the prosperous era of HM the King.

He hailed the democratic and media openness and the freedom of opinion and expresses and scientific research which stem from the royal keenness on promoting culture, education and knowledge which represent the cornerstone of human development, tolerance, peace and understanding between cultures and civilisations.  

He reiterated the ministry’s keenness on bolstering partnership with press, media, cultural, and artistic enterprises and supporting writers and thinkers, encouraging them to publish their works, protecting their rights in accordance with rules regulating press and media work and the intellectual copyrights and the commitment  to national values, Arab and Islamic identity.
