Northern Governorate concludes festivities

The Northern Governorate has concluded its festivities related to the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh, the anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne.

Held under the theme “Leader and People...Nation’s Joy”, the celebration included a traditional rowing race, which was held at Budaiya jetty, reflecting Bahrain’s long-standing traditional heritage legacy. It was held under the patronage of Northern Governor Ali bin Al Sheikh Abdulhussein Al Asfoor.

The Governorate paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, hailing royal keenness on promoting Bahrain’s rich legacy of traditional and heritage sports.

It also commended the follow-up of HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and  HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
