HM the King names Dr Al Zayani new Minister of Foreign Affairs
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday informed Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of His Majesty the King’s wishes to appoint him as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister was receiving Dr Al Zayani, the outgoing Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), at Gudaibiya Palace. Prince Salman praised the efforts of Dr Al Zayani in strengthening cooperation among the GCC countries and wider region.
His Royal Highness went on to praise the successes of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs, especially his contribution to the advancement and promotion of the Kingdom’s international agenda.
HRH the Crown Prince wished Shaikh Khalid the very best in his new position as His Majesty the King’s Adviser for Diplomatic Affairs. Dr Al Zayani expressed his appreciation for the trust instilled in him by HM the King and thanked HRH the Crown Prince for his support towards the enhancement of GCC cooperation and regional prosperity
