‘Resolve crisis’ call

The Cabinet chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday, called for de-escalation and an intensification of efforts to foster greater regional security and stability.

In this regard, the Cabinet underlined the region’s central importance in global affairs and emphasised the importance of collective international action to maintain regional security and stability. HRH the Crown Prince reviewed the measures taken by government ministries and agencies in order to ensure services are provided to citizens regardless of the various conditions and challenges.

The Cabinet condemned Turkey’s decision to send military forces into the State of Libya, as it constitutes a blatant interference in the internal affairs of an Arab nation and is a clear threat to Arab national security, regional stability, as well as being a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions.

The Cabinet drew attention to the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy to further enhance the Kingdom’s economic development, highlighted by the positive results in the Kingdom’s Q3 2019 Bahrain Economic Quarterly report, compared to the same period during 2018.

The positive results come as a direct result of the various initiatives deployed to promote economic diversification within the framework of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. The Cabinet noted that the Kingdom’s positive economic trajectory and diversification efforts have contributed to providing quality opportunities for citizens, by creating various initiatives and programmes.

These include the National Employment Programme (NEP), which aims to increase employment opportunities and meet the requirements of the labour market. The NEP initiative has contributed to the employment of over 9,000 job seekers, increasing the daily employment rate by 30 per cent, or an average of 103 employments per day.

The number of job vacancies that have been received since the inception of the programme stands at around 13,321, an increase of 82pc. HRH the Crown Prince directed government ministries and agencies to study the possibility of implementing the twelve ideas that qualified to the final stage of the second edition of the government innovation competition “Fikra”.

In this regard, the Cabinet highlighted the importance of further strengthening innovation and creativity within the public sector in order to enhance the efficiency and quality of its service delivery and noted the vast amount of participants who partook in the competition, which demonstrates the public sector employees’ ambition and drive to accelerate innovative solutions across government.

The Cabinet approved a memorandum submitted by the government’s Executive Committee, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince, on a proposal to develop renewable energy certificates and establish a certification system.
