Sitra may get new health centre

Sitra may get a new health centre soon, it was revealed. The new health centre would be situated in the eastern part of Sitra and will have an area of nearly16,000 sqm.  The centre will provide all health services. According to ministry sources, the project is under consideration.

“The project will go forward as the required budget becomes available in accordance with procedures,” a Health Ministry source said. “The ministry prepares annually a list of projects that need to be attention in order to provide a better level of service in accordance with the best medical practices to meet the aspirations of the people,” the source added. 

The current Sitra Health Centre serves around 29,000 people. And among them, according to statistics from 2018, 23,928 are citizens and rest are expatriates. Reportedly, the centre receives 525 patients per day. 

Meanwhile, the Southern Municipal Council is seeking to build a maternity hospital in the Southern Municipal Council. Chairman of the Southern Municipal Council, Bader Al Tamimi has submitted a proposal to have a maternity hospital in the Southern Governorate.
