There should be three members in each team who should prepare a healthy dish within 30 to 45 minutes. A jury, comprising of certified chefs, will evaluate the dishes.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has recently witnessed a significant rise in the number of people suffering from obesity, diabetes, and heart diseases.  The Ministry of Health has been trying to combat this issue through various awareness and treatment programmes.

Dr. Amina said the primary measures to fight this should start from the kitchen. Changing one’s food habits according to a healthy diet could work miracles in tackling this issue. “People are constantly concerned how to maintain a healthy diet. We have been receiving many queries each day regarding this from those looking for a better diet,” Dr. Amina said.

The competition aims to dispel the general notion that healthy food is expensive and not tasty.
