Entities of excellence

The Cabinet chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday directed government entities to further increase the quality and efficiency of government service centres by enhancing their competitiveness, creativity and innovation.

Additionally, HRH the Crown Prince expressed his gratitude towards the eight ministries and entities that received the Taqyeem Gold classifications for their respective centres for the year 2019.

They include Information and E-Government Authority, represented by the ID card service Centre located at Seef Mall, Muharraq, Electricity and Water Authority, represented by the Subscriber Service Centre at Mazaya Plaza, Bahrain’s Labour Fund (Tamkeen), represented by the Customer Service Centre located at Seef Mall, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, represented by the Bahrain Investors Centre, and the Precious Metals Assay Services as well as Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs, and Urban Planning, represented by the Northern Municipality Centre located in Hamad Town Municipality Building.

HRH the Crown Prince further recognised the eight ministries and authorities that received the Taqyeem Silver classification for their respective Centres.

And they include Ministry of Interior, represented by the seaport and driving school within the driving licenses department, Ministry of Labour and Social Development, represented by the Muharraq Social Centre, Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, represented by the Capital Secretariat Centre and the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, represented by the Sanabis Building.

Among other things, based on the recommendations of the Government’s Executive Committee, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince, the Cabinet decided that the Government will absorb the cost of the payable VAT incurred on water and electricity, without changing the current price of the tariffs for all users, effective from February 2020.

The Cabinet approved the Ministerial Draft resolution regarding the addition of article no. (6) BIS to Resolution No. (1) for the year 2016 on tariffs for electricity and water consumption, in light of the memorandum submitted in this regard by HE the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs.
