Public authorities honoured for supporting Silah Gulf Company

A ceremony was held yesterday marking the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Bahrain-based Silah Gulf company.

Deputy Premier, Chairman of the High Committee for Information Technology and Telecommunications, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa patronised the ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Employees and public and private departments which contributed to the success of Silah Gulf were honoured during the ceremony which was attended by ministers and invitees.

The Deputy Premier hailed the company which was launched ten years among other successful initiatives under the flagship of the 2030 Bahrain Economic Vision, in line with the directives of his Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

  Hailed as one of the strategic goals of the e-government strategic programme, Silah Gulf contributed to honing the skills of 2,500 citizens and enabling them to engage in the labour market with the required quality and efficiency.

The firm is also seeking to provide rewarding job opportunities for 750 employees, of whom are Bahrainis - 83 per cent of whom are Bahraini nationals.

The Deputy Premier expressed delight at patronising the event, reiterating the Government’s keenness on supporting the company to continue achieving its pre-set objectives.

The Deputy Premier honoured STC Bahrain and the Information and Electronic Government Authority (iGA) in recognition of their decade-long viable partnership with Silah Gulf since its inception.

HH Shaikh Mohammed also honoured eight public authorities under the banner of the of the Government Communication Centre – The Ministry of Finance and National Economy, the Ministry of Housing the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Development Bahrain Airport Company, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Tender Board.

He also recognised other Government authorities which supported Silah Gulf – The Economic Development Board, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen).

STC Kuwait, National Bank of Bahrain were also honoured, along with Silah Gulf employees who completed ten years of service and outstanding staff.

Addressing the ceremony, iGA Chief Executive Officer, Silah Gulf Chairman Mohammed Ali Al Qaed expressed thanks to Deputy Premier HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa for patronising the ceremony, which marked ten years of landmark achievements.

He reiterated the company’s keenness on supporting sustainable development, diversifying sources of revenues to achieve fiscal balance, improving good governance, enhancing the standards of quality, productivity and innovation, promoting a favourable entrepreneurship environment to attract competences and investments, which would boot the sustainable development momentum and achieve the Government Action Plan (2019-2022).
